Who is responsible
TracTV is run by a private individual (the operator). Contact: support@8rec.com.
What we collect
Account: your name, email address and profile photo from your Google sign-in, your language, and whether you are a donor.
What you add: your favorite shows, movies and people, your friends, what you choose to share with them, and any feature request or comment you post.
Invitations: the email address that was invited and who invited it. Only that address is stored for someone who has not joined.
Donations: the amount, method (PayPal or QR Ph), status and payment reference. Payments themselves are handled by Payment Hub and PayPal or your bank.
Activity: the days you used TracTV and when you were last active, so the operator can see how many people use it. Nothing about what you look at or search for is recorded.
Technical data: your IP address and request details are kept in the hosting provider's logs for security and troubleshooting.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Why, and on what legal basis
To provide TracTV to you, including sign-in, favorites, the calendar and sharing with friends: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To keep the service secure, to send an invitation that a member asked for, and to prevent abuse: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
To keep donation records: a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
To play an embedded trailer from YouTube, only after you press play: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw by not playing it.
Who receives your data
Google (Firebase Authentication, Firestore database and Cloud Run hosting) processes account and app data on our behalf. The database is in Singapore; Google may process data in other countries under its standard contractual clauses.
The Movie Database (TMDB) provides show and movie information. TracTV asks TMDB from its own server, without your personal data. Posters and photos are loaded from TMDB's image servers by your browser, so TMDB can see your IP address.
YouTube receives your IP address only if you press play on a trailer, through its privacy-enhanced mode.
Payment Hub and its email provider send invitation emails and handle donations. PayPal or your bank process payments.
Other members see your name and photo. Friends see your calendar or favorites only if you choose to share them. The member who invited you, and the owner, can see your name and email.
Cookies and local storage
A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. It is strictly necessary.
A language cookie remembers your language for a year, and your browser remembers your light or dark theme. Both are things you choose.
There are no tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
How long we keep it
Your account data stays until you delete your account.
An invitation that nobody accepts is deleted after 90 days.
Server logs are kept for about 30 days.
Donation records are kept as long as accounting law requires; after you delete your account they no longer point to you.
Your rights
You can see and download your data (Settings, Your data, Download my data), correct it (your name and photo come from your Google profile and update when you sign in again), and delete your account and everything attached to it (Settings, Your data, Delete my account).
You can also ask us to restrict or stop some processing, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
If you think your data is handled unlawfully, you can complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Connections use HTTPS. The database cannot be reached from a browser; only the TracTV server reads it. Secrets are stored encrypted. Access is limited to invited members.
Children
TracTV is not meant for people under 16.
